Country Design Home is a blog created by a lifelong suburban country girl, craftsman and interior designer/stager in Wakefield, MA. Living in an 1850’s house with a barn in a suburb just north of Boston, she has spent many years perfecting the design look she calls “Country Pretty”. We are not talking about kitchens with rooster wallpaper borders or dark, stark, dreary colors. Instead, the new “Country Pretty” evokes images of crackled pottery vases overflowing with hot pink peonies from her garden, or a white wicker settee on the summer porch filled with overstuffed pillows in red, white and blue. Combining heirloom pieces with modern day accents, Susan uses new and upcycled, re-styled “new again” furniture to create inviting home environments that are cozy, classic and with just the right touch of bling to bring pretty to country. If you need help choosing a color, redefining your space or just looking for some “design entertainment”, enjoy our blog postings! We hope that it will inspire you to re-use, re-purpose and re-love your space.
I fell in love with the usa map made out of license plates from home goods. But i couldn’t swallow the $1500 price tag. It was gorgeous and would be perfect in my sons apartment at college. So now i’m on a hunt for one i can afford.

I’ve never seen one since in a Home Goods, or any other store for that matter. But I did see one in the
Smithsonian Museum in DC the last time I was there!
